ISI/nsiders – ISI

Adam Russell, AI/nthropologist and Director of the AI Division at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI), is on a journey to help build a better world with AI. After launching AI/nsiders in 2023 where he interviewed the ISI humans behind our AI research, he expands his quest to the other disciplines researched at ISI. Networking, cybersecurity, computing, microelectronics, quantum, space, ISI scientists have a lot to say about the state of their fields, their research topics, and how AI fits into them.

Steve Crago, Associate Director at ISI, shares his experiences in how preparation and luck relate to success. He discusses the new perspectives he’s gained through working in Moses 2.0, and what it’s been like encouraging his team to explore unfamiliar avenues. He explains what having running as a hobby has taught him about perseverance, and how a passion for math from a young age guided him to the path he’s currently on. Listen to his episode below.
