Abstract

Purpose
This paper aims to critically review the integration of social network analysis (SNA) in architectural conceptual design for addressing socio-cultural components within the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, with a focus on applications promoting social harmony.
Design/methodology/approach
A comprehensive literature review was conducted using the “Web of Science” database, initially identifying 108 relevant journal papers. Through in-depth analysis, 18 specific papers were selected for detailed review. The study employed bibliometric analysis combined with methodological review to examine publication trends, geographical distribution and methodological approaches.
